On the southern shore of Lake Siljan, a comfortable walking distance from the centre of Leksand, lies Leksand Strand. In a beautiful, natural position on the slope down towards the lake the facilities offered include village-style cabin accommodation, camping, shop, bathing beach, outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and activities.
Leksand Strand lies next door to Sweden's second largest summer theme park "Leksand Sommarland" - an eldorado for families with children in the summer months. Just a short drive will take you to some of the great sites, events and activities in central Sweden: the manufacturing of the iconic Dala Horse, the twin-track summer toboggan run in Rättvik, the Bear Park in Orsa, the dramatic natural music venue of Dalhalla, The Falu copper mines in Falun, the many and varied events in the "Music around Siljan" programme, golf courses, ski slopes and, of course, ice hockey.
Accommodation for everyone
The accommodation consists of 52 detached camping cabins and 55 semi-detached ones.
The four-star camping site has 500 pitches of which 290 are supplied with electricity.
Within the site there is a community hall with TV, solarium and sauna, a restaurant (open in the summer months), small shop for provisions, 25m swimming pool, 80 m water slide,
crazy golf, dance floor, play areas and other children's activities.
